An evening at the bazaar

An evening at the bazaar

Blue skies speckled with clouds
Stepping out with an air of expectancy
The ride silent and cool
As we turn the corner
Fragrances of pristine roses and jasmines fill the air
People are bustling about
Different destinations in mind
Vendors call out to passers-by
Narrow alleys lead to seemingly petite shops
Loaded with a myriad collection of sarees
With shopping bags full we start homeward

Redwood

Redwood

Reaching for skies
Evergreen legendary being
Drive-through tree
Warp and weft
Of laced foliage
Oddly needs preservation
Desirable legacy ’tis

Comment is like a beacon telling you whether you are nearing the shore or heading into the deeper seas. So please do comment and show me the way! ;) :D

Tsunami

Perhaps it is a cue to the mankind that we must stop destroying our Mother Earth.

Tsunami

Thunderous waves took
So many lives
Unbelievable yet real
Nature’s fury struck
Agonizing poor, rich
Mere losses are
Indemnified, not homes

Piggy Bank

Piggy bank

Pocket money
Inherited monthly
Grinning widely
Gobbling cookies
Yo-yoing happily

Brings joys
Accessed easily
No questions
Keepsake forever

Pet

When you have a pet animal you learn a lot from it. Probably that’s why it is good for children to have their own pet dogs or cats. I was 15 years old, when I brought home a puppy! :) It was a delight - the first bath, the first bowl of milk, the cardboard box which was Timmy’s house, the first time he learned to climb stairs. All are fond memories now. But I seriously don’t like it when it bites me!! :( Even then Timmy is a good dog. My best buddy who has been with me all these years! :D see I have sketched him!!

Pet

Piercing whines echo
Earnest eyes filled with love
Tearful when we part

Poems

Since I’m writing poems all the time these days, a thought as to how or what a poem is told/presented in a poem. ;) An attempt to bring out its characteristics!! :)

Poems

Pieces forming a puzzle
Outwardly simple; inwardly intricate
Elegant and thought provoking
Memories to become fond
Synopsis of feelings inked

Father's day

Fathers day

Freedom to express, do
Anything within prescribed limits
Teaching right from wrong
Here with me, to
Explain, guide and care
Recollecting those fun weekends
Simply yearn for ol’ days

Dad, thank you for
All the joys, life
You have given me

Court

This word “court” brings to mind a lot of things – kings, grandiose, courtyard, wooing, affairs, secrets and so on. Here is a limerick which, I’m afraid, doesn’t make too much of sense!!

Court

Clarity is sought this very day
Out with the shady secrets, pray!
Unabashed to claim love
Release a turtle dove
Tell the world their king is gay

Just do it

Sometimes you just have to go for it. Probably there will be no further opportunities. Trust your instincts and go for it! Just do it yaar! :D (yaar is a Hindi word meaning buddy)

Just do it

Jab of reality knocks
Unveil those spectacular dreams
Say now or never
Take chance or lose

Defect your doubts, go
Onward with unshakeable spirit

Invigorate your abilities and
Trust yourself to triumph

B'bye visitor!! Rock on! ;)

Guest

Hello guest!! :) thanks for visiting!

In India, it is believed that a guest at door is like God himself at our doorstep. “Atithi devo bhava” this is in Sanskrit meaning, guest is God ! They say utmost care should be taken of the guests and their needs. But times are changing and so are perceptions.

Guests are a mixed bunch, sometimes you have so much fun with them that you do not want them to go and sometimes it is a relief when they leave. Heehe..  Here is a cheeky line by an unknown author – “Hospitality is making your guests feel at home, even if you wish they were.” Rightly so sometimes, but the whole experience is rare. You get to know so many things from your visitors, be it the usage of a new appliance or interesting facts about a new landscape, language; some unknown home remedies; the art of dealing with people, life, problems, so on and so forth.

Bringing to light a guest and the effect! ;)

Good for company
Unsung at times
Exchanges gossip, gifts
Swamped when appealing
Teaches curious lessons

A begining

A beginning

Love leaves me a lil numb
A bit scared
A tad sad

Wanting no more
Beseeching a break
From rocky waves to a shore
Where sunshine knocks by
Where trust isn't so elusive
Pals lend a hand
For now I've grown up n out
Relegating the stalking memories
A sea of redundant emotions
Hopping from one island of isolation
To yet another rueful one
Flaring and flailing on the trial
Heading to soar up sooner or later!
